HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am very grateful that 2008 has come to a close.  It was a rough year, but also a year full of blessings and wonderful experiences.  Three spinal surgeries, lots of physical therapy and doctor appointments- and with that came wonderful blessings of finding a new doctor with a possible cure for my 8 year struggle with chronic pain as well as hands reaching out to us in service.
January 8th I go see my neurosurgeon, and February 8 marks my two month post op point as well as my one year mark since my cervical fusion and my seven year mark since my first cervical fusion.  We are praying for good results and complete recovery.
I am very proud of my two college boys, who will begin their second semester next week.  We are very grateful for this wonderful opportunity for them, and know that they will continue to work hard and do an AWESOME job!
Lauren is looking forward to mom being healthy enough to go to science camp in May and is also on a very elite Girl Scout camp committee (she was hand picked out of hundreds of girls to be on the committee) and is very excited to be part of the planning for camp this year.  I hope that I am healthy enough to go to camp with her again this year.  It's something I really enjoy doing and gives me a wonderful opportunity to spend time with Lauren and get to know other moms.
I am very grateful to have a wonderful husband who is an unending source of strength and support.  He has been Mr. Mom for a good portion of last year, and he is the love of my life.  I am truly blessed.
One of my goals for this year, besides daily swimming and dog walking, is to finally get all my 8mm movies onto DVD.  I am really looking forward to chronicling our family's movies from years gone by.  I also hope to have photos online to share with family and friends and on DVD as well as more family history work completed.  Health permitting, maybe I can be in school by next fall.  We'll have to wait and see how this year progresses.
I am very grateful for all the support (and meals) we've received from friends and our church family this past year.  My friend Vicki has been an unending support and always there when I need something.  My "sister" Adrienne has truly been an amazing support, and despite her own difficult year, has come to my rescue many times!  There have also been many people I don't even know from church, bringing us meals.  I don't think they even realized how much those meals meant to me during this time of recovery.  THANK YOU!
WIshing you and yours a healthy and happy 2009!

Thanks Em! So glad to see you are looking towards the future. It's enough that 2008 is over, thank goodness!
